The Marbled Murrelet

Marbled Murrelet
Until recently the marbled murrelet though often seen at sea, was usually described as "mysterious" and "elusive."
This was the result of a single fact.
No one had ever observed them nesting.
The simple reason for this baffling fact turned out to be that the marbled murrelet
only nests in the canopy layer of mature rain forests.
